Print media part of the “cool” life Print 0 Comments

It seems like consumers who are heavy users of social media still prefer to have tangible proof of their online activity. In Germany Deutsche Post has developed “Social Memories”, a tool for printing Facebook content in book form. Also, Prinstagram prints pictures posted on Instagram, a popular photo-sharing tool for smartphones. As Facebook has recently bought Instagram, more of these Web-to-print applications can be expected. Another proof of the need for tangible social media is the Instaprint, a small printer that prints pictures made via Instagram in Polaroid style.

A very different example of a print product being part of the social life of “cool” consumers is “Rolling Words” the new songbook of rapper Snoop Dogg. This book has a cover made of hemp, pages made of rolling paper and a match striker spine.
