When the Sunday Times Magazine was released in 1962, it was Britain’s first colour newspaper supplement and was seen as revolutionary.

Other titles soon followed suit, but the Sunday Times led the way for quality journalism and photojournalism and continues to do so to this day.

The exhibition – which runs until 18 February – presents a series of memorable covers and photographs, including work by Don McCullin, David Bailey, Eve Arnold, Richard Avedon, Sam Taylor-Wood, Terry-O’Neill, Chris Floyd and Stuart Franklin.

It also takes time to celebrate some of the most prestigious writers to be published in the magazine over the years, including Ian Fleming, Martin Amis, Bruce Chatwin, Jilly Cooper, Zoe Heller, James Fox and Nicholas Tomalin.

The highlight of the show is the covers, which trace the magazine’s creative approach to everything from the anniversary of Hiroshima to fluff pieces with David Cameron.
